Baked Old Bay Garlic Butter Cod

Ingredients

2 pounds Cod, sliced into filets, about 6 pieces (Preferably fresh cod)

  • ¼ cup Unsalted Butter, melted & cooled to room temperature

  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil

  • 3 Cloves Garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning, or to taste

  • Fresh Juice of ½  Lemon

  • Chopped Parsley, for garnish

  • (Optional) Salt, to taste

  • (Optional) Black Pepper, to taste

Recommended Equipment

  • 9x13 Baking Dish

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400ºF

2. Clean and thoroughly pat dry cod filets. Add cod filets to a 9x13 baking pan.

3. To make the Old Bay Garlic Butter Sauce, In a small bowl whisk together melted butter, olive oil, minced garlic, fresh lemon juice, and Old Bay seasoning. Next, spread Old Bay garlic butter sauce evenly over the fish. I recommend additionally sprinkling old bay seasoning over each piece of cod after applying the sauce. If you are unsure, you can wait until after it is done baking and season to taste.

4. Bake in the oven uncovered for about 15 minutes or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily.

5. Once done baking, let the cod rest for about 10 minutes before serving. You additionally season with salt, black pepper, and/or Old Bay seasoning upon serving. I also recommend squeezing a little fresh lemon juice on cooked pieces upon serving for additional flavor. Enjoy!
